18th Annual Fort Hawkins Archaeology Day

Please come join us for our annual free event brought to you by the Ocmulgee Archaeological Society and the Fort Hawkins Foundation. There will be lots of activities for adults and children, including: artifact identification, pottery-making, Georgia Indian crafts, primitive skills, and tours of the Visitors Center’s exhibits and of the reconstructed blockhouse. Plus, living historians will be roaming around interacting with folks and telling them about life on the Ocmulgee frontier during the War of 1812 era! Limited parking is at the Visitors Center, but for those touring the fort and those with mobility issues, please drive to the rear of the fort property and park up in the field near the blockhouse
