A reading and performance by Joy Harjo (Muscogee), 23rd Poet Laureate of the United States and first Indigenous Poet Laureate of the United States.

Join us for a special appearance from Joy Harjo, the internationally renowned writer, musician, and performer of the Muscogee (Creek) nation.  She is the 23rd Poet Laureate of the United States and first Indigenous Poet Laureate of the United States.

Harjo is also the 2022 winner of the National Book Critic Circle’s Ivan Sandroff Lifetime Achievement Award. Recognizing her three terms as the US Poet Laureate and as “a leading voice for Native American communities on and off the page,” the
