Make Music Day is completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.

It’s official, Macon will shake it up during Make Music Day Worldwide Celebration in downtown Macon on June 21st.
Gloria Stanley, singer/songwriter/actress born in the heart of Macon, received a Downtown Community Challenge Grant in December, 2018 from the Community Foundation of Central Georgia to expand Make Music Day Macon festivities in 2019. The project is “Let’s Do It Again – Make Music Day Macon – Where Soul Lives.”
Last year, Visit Macon and The Macon Arts Alliance were great supporters for the success of Make Music Day in Macon; and we are ready to make it bigger and better on June 21, 2019.
There will be the “Macon Downtown Boogie” stage setup in 3rd Street Park for artist pop-up performances and open mic entertainment; storefront music playing at local venues around the city; a Red Carpet VIP Partnership Kick-Off Reception (by invitation only); Bike Walk Macon Bikers in harmony, piano players on the streets, Bibb County School District participants, The Otis Redding Foundation Music Camp performers, a gospel music jubilee of local churches and much more around the City of Macon.
