Holiday Card Printmaking Workshop

Are you artsy? Do you like to make things? Then join us for our 2012 Holiday Card Printmaking Workshop! Macon Bibb Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Macon Arts to provide a free unique opportunity for artists ages 14-adult to make their own holiday cards and learn various printmaking techniques!

Craig Burkhalter (professor of art at Macon State College, printmaker, and book artist) and Jason Frost (owner/head artist and printer at Modern Giant Design) will be teaching participants to create one-of-a-kind cards that make great gifts and unique pieces of artwork through monoprinting and silk screening! This is a free event and you will be walking away with really cool artwork to give to your family, friends, or keep for yourself! No supplies or artistic experience are necessary, just your creativity and participation.

There will be 2 sessions; Session I is from 10:00-11:30, Session II is from 11:30-1:00. Please sign up for ONLY ONE SESSION. Space is limited to 20 participants per session so sign up early! Parks and Recreation will be providing all of your materials as well as some snacks and refreshments.

Please remember this free workshop is geared for high school aged students and adults only. Some of the printmaking techniques may be too difficult for younger artists.

Directions: The Round Building in Central City Park is located in the heart of the park! There will be signage in the park directing you to the parking area and the building.
