Intro to Knitting

In this 4-week class, you can learn the basics of knitting and start knitting your very own sampler scarf. The first class will lay the foundation with Knitting 101 (casting on and the knit stitch). Next you’ll learn the purl stitch, increases and decreases. Finally, you’ll learn various stitches such as seed stitch, cables, basket weave and lace. You’ll learn and practice these stiches as you start on a scarf that incorporates them all. By the end of the 4 weeks, you will be able to follow a pattern and knit almost anything you like. The cost is $130 ($110 for 567 members) and includes instruction, supplies, and your own knitting needles to take home. The class will meet on Saturdays, 2:00-4:30 pm, starting October 8. The class will not meet Oct. 22, and the last class will be Nov. 5. Ages 13 and up.
