ADMISSION INFO

About the Musicians
The JAM Ambassadors are members of the Jazz Association of Macon. They participate in the JAM Goes Back to School Program, which, since 2000, has brought an ensemble of professional musicians to over 200 middle Georgia public and private elementary, middle and high schools to introduce the students to jazz. The members of the ensemble demonstrate the various roles of the instruments and vocalists. They play different styles of rhythms – straight ahead, Latin, swing, blues, funk, bossa nova, and contemporary. During the school program, the musicians interact with the students by discussing the music, instruments, performers, composers and the history of jazz. They teach the concepts of collaborative interaction, value of community, teamwork, and self-expression. Interest in music has been shown to have a positive effect on children in other academic endeavors. The Jazz Association sponsors the annual Jazz and Arts on Riverdale along with managing three different scholarships for young musicians.

The bandleader and jazz visionary is Edward K. Clark, M.D., who plays tenor sax, alto saxophone and is lead vocalist.

Neil Rigole, Ph.D., is the keyboard player for the JAM Ambassadors.   He is the Chair of the Department of Information Technology at Middle Georgia State University.

KMO is the bass player for the JAM Ambassadors.  He plays guitar, upright bass and electric bass and sings. He is a master of jazz and blues, and traditional R and B, thanks to his “Motown” roots.

Evan Jones began playing trumpet at Lanier High School in Macon and played trumpet in the Army Band. Evan plays with the Liberty Chapel Church Orchestra and is the band leader for the Just Friends Band.

Jim Blanton is a superb drummer and music educator.  He is now retired from the positions as Band Director of Monroe Public High School and Music Supervisor of the Monroe County School System.

Keith Fitzgerald JD is the trombonist for the JAM Ambassadors. Keith has played with multiple groups over the years while being a local attorney in Macon.
