Make Music Winter is a National Celebration of music celebrated on the first day of Winter on December 21, the winter solstice.
Downtown Macon festivities of Make Music Winter will begin at the Douglass Theatre at 12N – 2:00 pm with Musicians-in-the-Round and will culminate at First Baptist Church at 595 New Street at 5:00p (A Musicology 101 Soiree) with a collaboration of singers/songwriters and musicians performing holiday medleys, drum rolls, poetry in motion and much more.
All events are FREE, joyful, profoundly participatory and opened to the public!
Ingenious musical parades for iPhones, hand bells, bicycles, trombones, and boomboxes have delighted audiences since New York City began celebrating Make Music Winter in 2011. Last year, 31 cities joined the party.

The sixth nationwide Make Music Winter celebration will take place on December 21, 2023.
Join the celebration in Downtown Macon at the Douglass Theatre, 355 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd at 12N and at First Baptist Church, 595 New Street at 5:00pm – (owner of the D.T. Walton Building at the intersection of Cotton Avenue and New Street), a Historic Macon Foundation – Fading Five.
