Painting and Music- a free Watercolor Demonstration

New to Macon, seasoned artist Gertrude Palmer invites the community to her studio for a demonstration. Depending on the weather, she will either work plein air in the studio courtyard, painting the historic Slate House or inside the studio painting her son, Jamal George as he plays acoustic guitar.

Palmer has devoted over four decades to her craft as an illustrator, fashion designer, painter and jeweler. Her work includes portraits, landscapes abstracts and polymer clay jewelry which will be on exhibit.

The artist’s love of music has led her to paint musicians as they perform at venues like the Savannah Jazz Fest and Butterfield’s Roadhouse in Sopchoppy, Florida. Palmer has exhibited and painted extensively, winning awards and recognition nationwide and south of the border.
