Ingleside began in 1917 when the community was a 15-minute streetcar ride from downtown Macon. Much of the neighborhood follows the picturesque landscape planning prevalent in early 20th-century residential development and popularized by Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr. Large lots and winding streets lend an informal yet carefully planned feel to the community and provide a stunning backdrop for some of Macon’s most extraordinary homes and gardens.
