Middle school students perform on stage to showcase their talents learned from the Young Musicians Workshop, playing keyboards, drums, guitars, trumpet and saxophone. The community is invited to enjoy these talented young performers.
Middle school students took part in a Saturday summer camp to learn to play a musical instrument. The camp was made possible through a Downtown Challenge grant and is sponsored by Phillips Performing Arts Foundation and the Jazz Association of Macon.
For three Saturdays in June, these young people learned how to read music and play an instrument, some for the very first time. Instructors are trained music educators from area schools.
