Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia will announce its 2019 Youth of the Year and induct two new members into their Annual Hall of Fame during a ceremony on February 7, 2019. For more than 80 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia have provided kids and teens of all backgrounds, the opportunity to achieve great futures. To celebrate the accomplishments of current and former Boys & Girls Club members and other community partners, the organization annually recognizes the distinguished service of its youth, alumni and community partners.
The 3rd Annual Youth of the Year and Hall of Fame ceremony will be hosted by NFL Hall of Fame Member, Andre Reed and will honor youth, club alumni and community partners who have gone on to make major contributions in their communities, within their professions, or through their support for the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia’s Hall of Fame (HOF) Class of 2019 inductees include: SERVICE TO THE CLUB HONOREE – Rosalind McMillan; SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY HONOREE – John Hiscox and CLUB ALUMNI HONOREE – Lamar Geddis, Jr. The 2019 inductees will join the 2018 HOF class inductees Beverly Knight Olson and Aubry Boyd, and the 2017 HOF class inductees Zelma Redding and Bobby Pope.
Nominees for the Youth of the Year are Cameron Gooden, Dayveon Shannon, Aaliyah Simmons, Kenzavious Coats and Cameron Gooden. The winner will be announced at the event and will be the recipient of a $1,000.00 scholarship and represent Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia at the state level competition. The winner of the state level will advance to a regional level competition and the winner from this will compete on a national level.
