Mercer University’s Townsend School of Music is nationally recognized for its outstanding faculty, award-winning students, performanceensembles and state-of-the-art facilities. Townsend presents an annual concert season that features more than 50 performances by professional guest artists, distinguished faculty, and students in both instrumental and vocal fields. The Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, a special institute within Townsend, presents its own Fabian Concert Series featuring some of the top string musicians from throughout the world. Most concerts are held in Fickling Hall, an acoustically outstanding space that seats 230, located at the McCorkle Music Building on Mercer’s Macon campus.
