Chartered in 1836, Wesleyan was the first college in the world to grant degrees to women. Today, Wesleyan is regarded as one of the nation’s finest liberal arts colleges and is consistently recognized for academic excellence. According to the editors of USA TODAY and The Princeton Review, Wesleyan is one of the Nation’s Best Value Private Colleges.

Along with 31 major and 26 minor undergraduate programs, as well as eight pre-professional programs, students can self-design their own major, combining two or more interdisciplinary majors. The College will offer a pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing program with junior-level nursing courses beginning fall semester 2013. Two graduate programs enroll men and women — the Executive MBA and the Master of Education in Early Childhood Education.

Wesleyan offers NCAA Division III athletics, a championship IHSA equestrian program, and opportunities for spiritual development and community leadership.

First for Women isn’t just a claim to fame — it’s a philosophy that separates Wesleyan’s learning community from all others.
