For more than forty years I have had an intimate relationship with creativity. I began my career as a fashion designer and printmaker on the West Coast of the USA. I painted as I traveled across our country, the Caribbean and Mexico, painting landscapes on location (plein air). Islands, Jazz bars, Music Festivals, city streets and Farmers Markets all supplied the color and energy I crave.

Winner of the In Vivo Design Award, recipient of a Low Country Community Foundation Grant, Finalist in the one hour portrait competition at Artfields, the Hilton Head Island Annual International Art Competition, First Place in the Senior Showcase, Tallahassee, FL, I have been rewarded for my work.

I am ever searching for new ways to express myself and prefer to work without a plan, trusting in an organic process that results in spirited and challenging results.

Music is always a friend and I paint musicians and performers as they perform. My first abstracts were painted to the music of violinist Stephan Grapelli, with a silk thread.

I love sharing my knowledge and philosophy of art through classes and workshops. Art brings us together and elevates our lives while offering a truly spiritual experience. We can all participate in the process no matter our previous experience.

A few years ago I realized that the portrait warm up sketches (gesture drawing) would be a nice addition to events like weddings, reunions, festivals, etc. This led me to start my service “The Wedding Painter”, a great success.
