We’re offering a hypertufa class on Tuesday, June 14th! Hypertufa (hi-per-TOO-fa) is a mixture of concrete, peat, and perlite for making plant containers and sculpted garden accents. Hypertufa containers lend themselves to design details like pressing glass or tiles into the sides or lip for added color or texture.

Our class is scheduled for June 14th from 9:30-11:00. We will supply the mix, empty containers to use as molds, and some decorative pieces to add to your pots. You’ll need to come dressed in clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty and maybe wet.Children ages 6-14 are welcome to participate too at no additional cost with a registered adult (one adult for every two children). This is a fun creative project for grandparents and grandchildren too.

Space is limited and registration closes on Friday, June 10th. Friends of Lockerly may register at a discounted price of $12.00. The non-member cost is $15.00. Registration includes everything you’ll need to make a container. If you want to make more than one, or if a child wants to make one too, the cost for every additional container is just $7.00.
