On April 14th the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia is anticipating providing 1,000 meals to the homeless and homebound in our community in honor of Good Friday. Volunteers will deliver over 700 meals directly to people who are unable to get to a Good Friday celebration. An additional 300 meals will be served inside the Mission to homeless and less fortunate residents of Macon.
Good Friday is a crucial day of the year because it celebrates what we believe to be the most momentous weekend in the history of the world. Ever since Jesus died and was raised, Christians have proclaimed the cross and resurrection of Jesus to be the decisive turning point for all creation.
A traditional feast with all the trimmings will be provided as a sit down dinner or pre-arranged delivery option to the elderly and disabled. The seated holiday meal will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. on Friday April 14, 2017 at the Rescue Mission located at 774 Hazel Street (corner of Hazel & First Street) in downtown Macon.
