Southwest High School’s Fine Arts Masters of Excellence bring a new view of the young people of our town. Amagolian Blue is the story of two forbidden lovers from two different African tribes who risk their land, their people and their lives.
Southwest High School’s Fine Arts Masters of Excellence bring a new view of the young people of our town. They will bring to the stage for you a play that will defy all expectations and touch the heart of all those who see it. From Winsphere Jones comes “Amagolian Blue”, a story written 20 years ago and produced at Valdosta State University in 1999. This African based story takes the shape of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, as a boy and girl from separate and warring tribes come together, destroying the traditions taught to them since they were born. The two lovers risk their hearts, their families, and their lives in order to be free and be together. This will be a wonderful journey that will certainly be thought-provoking with powerful messages. From issues of tribal conflict, traditional barriers and the matter of choice to who we love. The sun sets in Africa on Sunday, March 25th at 5PM in the Southwest High Auditorium. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at Southwest High School. Prepare yourself for two tribes, one love….AMAGOLIAN BLUE.
Tickets are $5.oo for admission. They can be purchased at Southwest High School or the night of the show.
