Morning Photography Walk-National Camera Day

Morning Photography Walk-National Camera Day

Presented by Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park at Ocmulgee National Monument

The walk will begin at 7:30am at the Great Temple Mound parking lot, so you may park there. The walk will likely center around the Opelofa Trail, boardwalk, and River Trail, but is subject to change.

This is a free event with no reservation necessary.

The walk will begin promptly at 7:30am so we can beat the heat. The park gates will be open at 7am and the Visitor Center will be open from 7:00am-7:20am so you may use the restroom and fill water bottles before we leave. The Visitor Center will remain locked until we return from the walk (estimated 8:30am) upon which you can revisit the restroom before we officially open the Visitor Center for the day at 9am.

While kids are welcome, we remind parents and grandparents that there will be times when we will want a quiet group as we try to capture wildlife on camera, so we recommend young children be left at home.

Don’t forget your water, hat, sunscreen, good walking shoes, and camera!!

This is a weather dependent event. If there is bad weather and the event is cancelled, we will post that information on this event page as soon as possible. The park gates would remain locked until 8:30am as usual.
