Evita Duarte, a B-picture Argentinian actress who eventually became the wife of Argentinian president Juan Perón, and the most beloved and hated woman in Argentina. It made stars of Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, ran for nearly 1,600 performances on Broadway, and swept the Tonys for 1980 with six awards including “Best Musical.” And now it’s finally coming back into production for a very limited national tour – and Macon has a date!
