The community is invited to a kick-off Rally for Consolidation 2012 at Fire Station Park and historic Grant’s Lounge on Poplar Street, featuring a free outdoor concert by The Grapevine and Word of Mouth, line dancing and disco inside the lounge and a free outdoor after party at 10:30 pm with music by Big Mike and the Booty Papas out back at Grant’s. The event is free and open to the public and the media. An information booth will be manned by business and community leaders from Macon+Bibb Wins Again! to answer questions about Referendum 1171, with free brochures and bumper stickers. Food vendors will be onsite and Grant’s Lounge will serve a Friday Fest approved cash bar from it’s sidewalk entrance so people can set up chairs and spread out blankets to enjoy the park’s music and fun with drinks in hand.
