Author Conie Mac Darnell will highlight aspects of his 2012 book Walking On Cotton: Civil War & Emancipation Era Guide to Macon, GA. A panel featuring Georgia State University’s Dr. Karcheik Sims-Alvarado, Macon Dentist and Community Historian Dr. Thomas Duval, Former Macon Mayor & World Diaspora Trail Advocate C. Jack Ellis, FVSU Political Science Professor Dr. Meagan Fields, and Macon State’s Dr. Andrew Manis author of the book Macon Black and White will follow the  presentation and conclude with questions from the audience.
