The Warner Robins Heritage Society hosts its annual daylight tour of several lesser known cemeteries.
Cemetery research is a vital way to recover information about the lives of our predecessors and the forgotten history of our communities. An old southern city with a largely rural history tends to have a lot of private cemeteries hidden in plain sight: hundreds of people lived, died, and were buried in the Warner Robins area for more than a hundred years before Robins AFB came in, so it’s no exception!
Get your guide booklet at Print Works Plus on Watson (look for the hearse!) and then you’re off on a self-driven tour of seven Warner Robins cemeteries, each with docents to help guide your visit.
The cost is $10 per vehicle and includes one guide booklet ($2 for additional booklets at the door). Purchase tickets beforehand at eventbrite.com or at the door. Early bird tickets ($7.50) are available online through Oct 13.
