The Teen B.L.A.C.K. Initiative is a program for youth ages 13-18 that uses spoken word as a tool for mentoring and creative expression. Program participants meet at The 567 on Saturday mornings, 10 am to noon, to learn effective communication skills, learn the ins and outs of being a spoken-word artist, and gain performance experience. This program is presented by B.L.A.C.K. Poets in cooperation with The 567. B.L.A.C.K stands for Believing Love And Cherishing Knowledge. The workshops are free, but students must register in advance.
