First Friday Art Crawl

Presented by The 567 Center for Renewal and Ampersand Guild and Macon Arts Alliance at Downtown Macon

Check out all the great art galleries open late with special events on October’s First Friday in downtown Macon!

Opening Reception for Jen Worsham: Art, live music, wine, and more!

Macon Arts Alliance (486 1st Street), 5-8 pm
First Friday Reception for Ocmulgee Monuments by Chris Smith: Art and light refreshments.

The 567 Center for Renewal (456 1st Street), 6-9 pm
First Friday Art Opening: Song & Dance
The October exhibit at The 567 will be Song and Dance, featuring photography by Kirk West and Buck Melton. Kirk West worked with music legends for many years and captured iconic photographs of these musicians. Buck Melton has recently done a series of striking black and white photographs of dancers. On First Friday, see the new exhibit, meet the photographers, and enjoy light refreshments.

Contemporary Art Exchange (590 Mulberry Street), 7 pm-late
The Contemporary Art Exchange will open its doors for its final First Friday before the Exchange closes for good. Visit the artists’ studios, see the art, and hang with them all one last time.

Ampersand Guild (382 Cherry St), 6:00-8:45 pm
Gallery Opening: MGA, Wesleyan, and Mercer student exhibit curated by Rudy Mendez
