Organ Duo Edie Johnson and Jason Overall will perform as part of the 2012-2013 Music and the Arts Series. This talented married couple have achieved high acclaim and notoriety in the world of organ and church music.
Edie Johnson is the Organist and Music Associate at Church Street United Methodist in Knoxville, TN. Prior to this appointment, she served as Assistant Organist/Choir Director at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Seminary Organist and Affiliate Professor of Church Music at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN
Jason Overall, Organist and Choirmaster, is also president of Goulding & Wood Organ Builders. Jason began organ study while in high school under Dr. Nancy Ypma at McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois. He went on to study organ with Dr. Charles Tompkins at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, earning the Bachelor of Music (cum laude) in Composition/Theory. Jason then continued his studies at Florida State University where received the Master of Music degree in Composition, studying under Dr. John Boda.
