The October story is The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano, read by the lively and energetic “SunDerella the Storyteller.” It will be fun, engaging and inspiring, as this story embraces the appreciation of difference and uniqueness. Children in grades K-3rd are welcome, as well as any infant, toddler or preschool siblings.
Live the story by bringing a small pumpkin to decorate and share with the group. Stickers and markers will be provided. If you don’t bring a pumpkin, paper will be provided for you to draw and design your own pumpkin.
The sessions are an hour long, with two times to choose from, for your convenience. This first event is free to Bibb County residents (with proper ID) as we kick off our “Second Saturday Storytelling,” which will take place during the months of October (13th), November (10th) and December (8th). Please contact Tonya Parker Outley, Program Director of the Tubman Museum, with any questions or concerns at tparkeroutley@tubmanmuseum.com or (478) 743-8544 ext. 26.
Free for Bibb County Residents. $2 for other guests.
