Check out all the great art galleries open late with special events on February’s First Friday in downtown Macon!

Travis Jean Emporium (522 Cherry Street), 5-9 pm
Get ready for Valentine’s! Covered by Colby Jewelry Trunk Show and James Worsham singing some tunes make this the perfect night out.

Macon Arts Alliance (486 1st Street), 5-8 pm
First Friday Reception for Drawn to Macon: Second annual juried drawing exhibition. Curated by Frances de la Rosa. Art and light refreshments.

The 567 Center for Renewal (456 1st Street), 6-9 pm
First Friday Art Opening: Pink Poodle Parade
The February exhibit at The 567 will be Pink Poodle Parade, featuring painted poodles and other original artwork by local artists. Presented by the Think Pink Committee to kick off the season of Cherry Blossom Festival events. On First Friday, see the new exhibit, meet the artists, enjoy light refreshments, and vote for your favorite poodle.

Ampersand Guild (382 Cherry St), 6-9 pm
Dark Matter: A Fellows’ Exhibit. This event features the unbridled talent of all fellows of Ampersand Guild. Works edgy, gripping, and unfiltered. Come for the arts, come for relaxation, come for the escape into creative freedom. Age 18+ All artwork is completely uncensored.

McEachern Arts Center (332 Second St), 6-9 pm
Mercer University Art Department’s new gallery and studio facility will make its debut. “Foundations” will be on exhibit, featuring work by the current and past faculty of the department. They will also feature work by former and current students. Enjoy live music and refreshments and tour the new space.

Startup Studios (1055 Riverside Drive), 8 pm-midnight
First Friday Open Studios: stARTup Studios will be hosting another wonderful evening of live demonstrations, display and sales of local artists, as well as walk-in workshops from each of our studio artists.
