Celebrate literacy and learning during Read Across America Day in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday! Join us at March First Friday for family-friendly crafts & games inspired by Dr. Seuss throughout downtown Macon!

Pick up a passport at NewTown Macon‘s Fun Zone in Third Street Park to find Seuss spots scattered throughout #DTMac! Participating businesses will have specials and and activities for the whole family in celebration of Dr. Seuss and literacy.

-Cat in the Hat at Just Tap’d – Macon
-The Lorax coloring pages at Macon Arts Alliance
-Pop-up tennis courts by Macon Tennis Association (set up on Cotton Avenue between First Street and Cherry Street)
-Green Eggs and Ham at Ocmulgee Brewpub
-A Roast Beast special (and coloring pages while you wait!) at Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen
-Oh the Places You Will Go! inspired activities at Travis Jean Emporium
-Storytime at Golden Bough Bookstore from 4pm to 5pm

-Activities and pop-up library by Middle Georgia Regional Library
-Free book giveaways by United Way of Central Georgia
