Historic Macon hosts a series of lectures and talks known as Sidney’s Salons in honor of the famed poet Sidney Lanier.
For 2019’s first Sidney’s Salon, Edwin Atkins will present on the Old State Prison that was located in Milledgeville, Georgia. Built in 1911 and closed in 1937, the prison was the site of the first electric chair in Georgia. The Old Prison was demolished in August 2018.
Admission is $5 for non-members and $3 for students. Salons are free for Historic Macon members.
