The public is invited to bring in their locally found Indian artifacts for identification and approximate age. Experts will be on hand to help owners understand what they have found and a brief bit of history about the culture that owned them.
Members of the Ocmulgee Archaeological Society will be present at the Fort Hawkins Visitor’s Center on May 11th from 1 to 4 pm to help the public identify their Indian artifacts and to help owners learn more about the culture that used them. We are interested in examining your artifacts from the Middle Georgia area including arrowheads, broken pottery as well as other artifacts. The O.A.S. does not buy, sell or trade artifacts and does not give estimated values. This event is free and is offered as an educational outreach by our organization.
