StoryTellers Macon presents: If These Walls Could Talk

Presented by Storytellers Macon and Macon Arts Alliance and Grant's Lounge at Grants Lounge

Look around you. Are you at home? At work? At a friend’s house? In a restaurant? Imagine the building you’re in right now could share stories from its past. You’d probably laugh at a few, cry at some, and likely cringe at one or two. Or maybe you’d be inspired to preserve that building and all the history it’s held. On the other end of the spectrum, you might want to knock it down! But since buildings can’t talk and most of us CAN, it’s up to us to share the stories connecting us to places.

Our November theme for Storytellers Macon is ‘If These Walls Could Talk.” We want to hear stories of the places you’ve been or experiences that have stayed with you. Or even some folklore about the place. For example, we know some of you locals have stories about what’s now known as the Big House Museum! Macon is rich in history and much of that relates to the places here. If you’ve ever walked into a place and felt the energy of the years before you, you must come and share. We invite everyone to come and listen, and if you feel inspired, get up and tell your story. And it doesn’t have to be about a Macon place. We love to hear about our town, but if you’ve got a good story from anywhere in or out of this world, speak it!

This month out featured Storyteller is Robert Reichert

Our next Storytelling event is Tuesday, November 12 at Historic Grant’s Lounge – a place that could speak for years if its walls could talk! As always, it’s free to attend and we’ll begin socializing at 6:30 with stories starting promptly at 7. We’ll see you then!
