Learn how to get started working with clay! By learning the basics, you will realize how easy it is to make your own ceramic pieces. In this 6-week class, you’ll work in a wide range of styles and handbuilding techniques, including sculpting, coil building, and slab building, as well as various surface decoration techniques. Artist Johnnie Skelton will lead the class through a variety of projects, such as bowls, mugs, wall hangings, jewelry holders, and/or sculptures. This class will not use the pottery wheels. Get ready to get your hands dirty! Open to ages 14 and up. The cost is $165 for non-members, $135 for members, and includes all materials. Meets Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 pm, starting January 16.
