Pascale Armond's $#!THOLE COUNTRY CLAPBACK

Pascale Armond's $#!THOLE COUNTRY CLAPBACK

Presented by Georgia College Theatre & Dance at Blackbox Theater

$#!THOLE COUNTRY CLAPBACK, is a rebuttal to Donald Trump’s comment about allowing people from “shithole countries” to enter the United States and a chronicle of the playwright’s family’s journey to American citizenship. The name of the play is a response to our current president, the date is anytime after January 11th, 2018, and the issue is ever present. This one-woman show tells a story that echoes those of many Black and Brown immigrants in America, highlighting the cultural straddling, battling of stereotypes, and struggle with patriotism that come with being caught between two lands that don’t always seem to love you back. With a provocative title and a raw truth, Armand presents a story of love, loss and national reflection that is timely, thought-provoking, and fearless.
