Learn more advanced techniques for creating pottery on the wheel in this 4-week class. This class will meet Mondays & Wednesdays, for a total of 8 classes. Students will learn how to make lidded jars, and oval and rectangular baking dishes. They will also spend some time learning about glazing techniques and gain a basic understanding of how a kiln works. Basic throwing skills are required before taking this class. It will be taught by John Skelton. Ages 16 and up. The cost is $220 for non-members, $185 for members, and includes all materials and firings. Meets Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm, starting November 9. The class will not meet the week of Thanksgiving, and the last class will be December 9. For the health and safety of our customers and artists, our classes will be held under the following guidelines:

* Small class sizes: there will be no more than 6 people in a pottery class
* Social distancing: participants will sit 6 feet apart, unless they are family or live together, etc.
* Masks: students must wear masks at all times.
* Sanitation: hand sanitizer will be provided and frequent hand washing will be encouraged. Tools, tables, and other frequently-touched surfaces will be sanitized between classes.
* Food and beverage: with the exception of water bottles, no food or drink will be allowed in classes
* Health: participants are asked not to attend if they have a fever or other symptoms of COVID-19, or if they believe they have been exposed to COVID-19
