Five barrier breakers that are part of Macon’s LGBTQ community share their stories and perspectives during a special one-night screening.
Once a week during October, Historic Macon unveiled a new video from community barrier breakers during LGBTQ History Month. Now, the series, “Hidden History,” will be screened at the Grand Opera House in its entirety — one video — followed by a short question-and-answer session with the filmmakers on how it was made.
The screening will feature one-on-one interviews with five men and women, who share their stories as well as observations about the Macon LGBTQ community’s history, culture and activism. The interviewees are: Carey Pickard; Yvonne Miller; DeMarcus Beckham; Jim Crisp; and Tangerine Summers. Elliot James conducted the interviews, and Rachelle Wilson directed the project.
Free admission.
