A 30-minute midday concert of organ music on the 53-rank Schlicker pipe organ at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Normally held on the third Thursday of every month October through May, except in March.
Tenor Richard Kosowski, Professor of Music, Director of Graduate Studies, and Chair of Vocal Studies at Mercer University, joins St. Joseph Organist and Director of Music Nelda Chapman for our annual Third Thursday Christmas program. Dr. Kosowski, who is also Director of Music for Riverside United Methodist Church, maintains an active career as a soloist, recitalist, chorister, conductor, director and educator. His performance career includes a varied repertoire encompassing over 50 opera and oratorio roles, representing music from the early 17th century through the 21st century. Ms. Chapman, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Mercer University and a M. Mus. degree in organ from Indiana University School of Music, is in her 27th year as Organist/Director of Music at St. Joseph Catholic Church, during the first 13 years of which she was also full-time choral director at Miller Magnet Middle School for the Fine Arts in Bibb County.
This 30-minute concert begins at 12:00 Noon and is FREE. Please come and join us for a delightful midday break!
