Join the Museum of Arts and Sciences for Quarter Moon Friday to learn about the night sky over Macon, and visit the observatory afterwards!
The Museum of Arts and Sciences is excited to announce the beginning of a new tradition: Quarter Moon Fridays. Once a month, on the Friday night nearest the quarter moon, we will be having a special planetarium show followed by a visit to the observatory. The museum doors will open at 8 p.m., the planetarium show will begin at 8:45, and telescope viewing will begin at 9:30.
Why Quarter Moon Friday?
A partially illuminated moon allows one to see mountains and craters in a way that is impossible when the moon is full. Because the moon follows its own schedule, Quarter Moon Friday will not fall on the same Friday night each month. So be sure to check our website for the exact schedule.
Tickets are available at the door.
