What moments have set your feet to movement? This month, we zoom out at Storytellers Macon to the seismic journeys of migration, of uprooting oneself and transplanting to new soil. Some migrations are temporary, a hibernation for winter or a refuge for lean times. Others are lifestyle shifts, where one step forward is one giant leap for who you are.
Join us for the FIRST Storytellers back indoors since COVID-19 upended our traditions. Tell a tale about your biggest move and your most compelling change. We’re looking forward to seeing you live and in person!
Our featured storyteller this month is Julia Rubens, a producer and communicator who seeks to harness the creative imagination to amplify more voices. Being the youngest child meant she was a “car baby,” toted around involuntarily to enough events that she’s learned to adapt and open herself to new experiences – so long as there’s a trusty seat belt. A Virginia native, her travels landed her in Macon working at the intersections of Mercer University and downtown on behalf of a variety of vibrant arts organizations and venues as the Arts Marketing Director. She serves on the board of directors of Storytellers Macon, Macon Little Theatre, and the Downtown Macon Community Association and she will pretty much definitely volunteer for your thing if you ask. In her free time, you’ll find her playing with her two high-energy pups and at Pure Barre.
