Storytellers Presents: The Art of Caring featuring Mikee Yago

Presented by Storytellers Macon at Grant's Lounge

Storytellers Macon has RETURNED TO GRANT’S LOUNGE! Join us at newly renovated Grant’s Lounge for a night of drinks and socializing starting at 6:30 PM with stories starting promptly at 7 PM.

TOPIC: THE ART OF CARING
We’re born to look for affection, but from the first cry to the last breath, it isn’t easy to care. The delicate dance of intertwining relationships is a constant drumbeat. In this Storytellers Presents, we ask about the art of caring, of reaching out more to anything and everything in your world, with compassion. How did you learn to care more, care better? And most importantly, how do you balance the yearning to help with taking care of oneself?

This Storytellers is part of our special microresidency with StoryMuse. Our featured storyteller will be Mikee Yago. Known as “Meat-Free Mikee,” he is an activist and animal lover affiliated with Macon Vegans and was part of founding the Animal Activism Mentorship program. He’s worked on marches, protests, outreach, marketing, and even chalktivism. Find him online IG/YT/Twitter/TikTok/Clubhouse: @meatfreemikee.

Shannon M. Turner, our August 8 workshop host, will also tell a story. Shannon is the Founder/Creative Director of StoryMuse. She serves as an independent consultant who conducts workshops and provides coaching to individuals and organizations seeking to use true, personal stories for transformative potential. Shannon has two decades of professional experience and an MFA from Virginia Tech.
