Despite all the multimedia ways the word storytelling is used these days, the oral tradition of speaking our stories to each other is our most ancient form of communication, culture, and persuasion. In this workshop, Shannon M. Turner, Founder & Creative Director of StoryMuse, will move us through a progression of storytelling basics, including structure, vulnerability, and details. Participants will practice deep listening and cultivate personal stories not only to prepare for future professional use but also as a means and mechanism for discussion of how we build empathy and community identity through our stories. In other words, how can we build our way out of the pandemic–one story at a time?
