Flutist Adam Sadberry is acting principal flutist for the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and a Concert Artists Guild prizewinner and will be accompanied by Dr. Chenny Gan, Associate Professor of Music at Wesleyan College.
Mr. Sadberry has performed with orchestras around the country and teaches both privately and through nonprofit organizations that provide free private lessons and resources to underserved communities. He is known for his radiant, lyrical playing and he’s committed to expanding the Black diaspora in the classical music world through promoting equity, representation, music education and commissioning music. He will be presenting a program Tuesday, April 5, 11:15 am at Pierce Chapel, Wesleyan College entitled “Musical Journalism: Continuing a Legacy with the Flute” pairing music with articles from the Tri-State Defender, the newspaper that his late grandfather and journalist L. Alex Wilson wrote for.
