Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration

Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration

Presented by Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park and Ocmulgee Mounds Association at Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park

In celebration of Southeastern Native American cultures, Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park will host its 31st Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration the 3rd weekend in September.

The Celebration is a homecoming to the Muscogee people who consider the park their ancestral homeland. Named one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society, the Celebration shares this vital piece of American history with visitors, allowing them to understand the Native American heritage, arts, and cultures first-hand through interaction and observation.

The event aims to bring together many Native American communities with traditional and contemporary elements that highlight and celebrate the beauty and important contributions of the Native Peoples to Georgia and the Southeast.

Rediscover the mounds and Earth Lodge, Visitor Center, trails and nature within the park.
All parking will be just down the road at 171 Emery Hwy. A free, handicap accessible shuttle will take you right to the event gate.
