Back on the Bike - Adult Bike Class

Back on the Bike is a beginner’s bicycling course for adults. This class is for novice bicyclists or for those who may have tried riding a bike a few times, but are not comfortable balancing, starting and stopping, shifting gears, and scanning the environment while pedaling. Students will learn bicycling basics including rules of the road, ABC Quick check, and how to properly fit your bike and helmet. As well as bike handling which includes balancing, pedaling, and steering control along with teaching several emergency hazard avoidance techniques. Students will finish the class with the skills to advance to “Urban Confidence” in December.

The Details
This class is FREE to attend for adults 18 and up, but please pre-register at backonthebikeclassoctober.eventbrite.com to help us prepare for the class.
Class will begin at 9:00 am in the Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center parking lot and last for about 3 hours. We’ll have FREE Bike Walk Macon lights, snacks, and water. Be sure to bring your helmet!

Bike Walk Macon has a limited supply of bicycles for use, though we recommend bringing your own bike since it is best to learn to ride on the bike you will be using most. Email kaylee@bikewalkmacon.com to borrow a bike.
