Gehl Architects Workshop

Gehl Architects Workshop

at Georgia Sports Hall of Fame

Public space is what connects the people and places in our cities and neighborhoods together. High quality public spaces that support vibrant public life are a vital element of an inviting downtown in Macon. How we improve the public spaces here should be grounded in a holistic understanding of how people travel through and use the area (streets and sidewalks included). We hope you will join us on Oct 3rd to share your ideas about how the city’s public spaces are working and how they might be improved. This workshop is an opportunity for Gehl Studio, a Gehl Architects Company, to hear from the people who know the area best.

Gehl Studio is working with Macon-Bibb Country and the Knight Foundation to begin to understand the street and public spaces in Macon’s downtown and the challenges and opportunities that exist around them. The workshop will involve a presentation by Gehl Studio and interactive exercises with participants that will involve going outside on a short walk and talk.

This event will lead back to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Cherry Street Plaza for the MAP Open House!
