Julia Ellen Craft Davis–great, great granddaughter of William and Ellen Craft will be presenting on the enslaved couple’s daring escape, which was described in William’s 1860 book, Running A Thousand Miles for Freedom. Traveling by railroad and steamship, the Craft’s four day journey began in Georgia and continued until they reached freedom in Pennsylvania.
