The Choral Society of Middle Georgia and Mercer University Choir will present its annual performance of Handel’s Messiah on December 1 and 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Macon.
“For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth, Hallelujah!” George Frideric Handel’s Messiah has been celebrated as a musical observance of the Advent and Christmas season for more than two centuries. This event is a long-standing tradition for Middle Georgia as a beginning of the Christmas season. The Choral Society of Middle Georgia, the Mercer University Choir, and orchestra will present Handel’s masterpiece at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Macon, GA under the direction of Dr. Gary G. Gerber.
Concert dates are Friday and Saturday, December 1st and 2nd at 8:00 P.M. each night. The beauty and holiness of St. Joseph Catholic Church brings even greater magnificence to the Messiah.
