Pettigrew Farm and Community Life Center Fort Valley State University 1005 State University Drive Fort Valley, GA Open to the public • Lunch will be provided In 1977, The Farm, Home and Ministers Conference was created in response to the needs of African-Americans in Fort Valley and surrounding areas to acquire free relevant and essential knowledge to strengthen their farms, homes, communities, and faith-based organizations. This year's topics include: •Developing a Small Business Plan •Making Your Products Market Ready •No Health Without Mental Health •Vegetable and Organic Production •US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Farm Bill Updates •A Farmer’s Testimony: Success and Diversity •Preparing Healthy Food for a Healthy Body •Computer Usage and Record Keeping • Timber and its Management: Not Just a Tree There will also be a Pre-Conference Master Goat Farmer certification workshop on Thursday, March 5 – Friday, March 6. Cost is $75. Space is limited.
