Milledgeville Film Festival

Milledgeville Film Festival

Presented by Georgia College & State University and Georgia Military College at Various Locations

The second annual Milledgeville Film festival (April 15th-19th, 2015) will be five days of screenings, events, panels, and workshops crafted to bring more knowledge and awareness of the film industry to this great community.  Once again they will roll out the red carpet for the black tie awards gala and host a Filmmakers Brunch at Andalusia.   Thus far, the Milledgeville Film Festival has received films from over thirty countries and representing different genres. They have received 50% more films this year than last year. The festival will also be hosting an outdoor horror screening on the the grounds of the Central State Mental Hospital. The festival will have five nights of after parties, which is always better than three. This year they are not only partnering with Georgia College, but are pleased to announce a partnership with Georgia Military College as well.

Now in our second year, while we are a small festival we brand ourselves as “Young, Motivated, and Relevant” meaning, Young = 80% of our volunteers are 18-24, Motivated = No one is going to hand you anything in Middle Georgia, Relevant = We care and about giving the small student filmmaker a chance, and we grant a lot of waivers every year to students. We care about supporting women in film and media. Last year over 75% of our travel costs went to women filmmakers. We also care about the environment. We have all programs in a digital format, and all of our trophies are made out of recycled materials.
