The Veterans Voices project will hold an official launch party on Saturday, April 18, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM, hosted by American Legion Post 3 in Macon, located at 5530 Thomaston Road.  The Veterans Voices project is focused on providing a public platform that allows veterans in Middle Georgia to share their stories and artistic expression with the community. This platform will be provided through a literary magazine that will feature art, short stories, poetry, and more, created by veterans and their families. All veterans and their families are welcome to the kickoff event, which will feature free food and live entertainment including music by The Vineyard Band.  At the event, Veterans Voices volunteers will interview interested veterans, recording their stories which will be converted into written works for the literary magazine.  The event will also showcase readings from works created from previous interviews with World War II veterans in Middle Georgia.  There will be a number of other veterans organizations and groups represented at the event.  All members of the community who are interested in the project or the stories of our local veterans are welcome.
