BBQ, boats and a band!  What a way to spend a Sunday afternoon! The Altamaha Riverkeeper, in partnership with Macon Water Authority, is making a splash in Macon by hosting the first annual Riverkeeper Rally.
 
The fun will start at 2:00 pm with a river float around Amerson River Park.  Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions will be on site with kayak rentals for $5.00, or bring your own boat.  Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Ocmulgee River with both put-in and take-out inside the park!  BBQ and music by Gringo Grande will start at 4:00 pm and will end at 6:00 pm.   A door prize drawing for a new kayak will be held at 5:45 – you must be present to win! 

There will be a cash bar.  Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions will have kayaks available for rent.  Come meet Altamaha Riverkeeper Jen Hilburn, learn about her work on Macon’s Ocmulgee River, and get a sneak preview the new Amerson River Park!
